Support of the mining industry has been a high priority for Flatwoods since the inception of our company. Our staff has decades of experience working with mining companies and regulators to find permittable solutions to the many issues that face the industry. Our staff has the necessary Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training and is approved to train others as specified in 30 CFR Parts 46 and 48. The countless projects conducted by our staff for the mining industry include wetland delineation and assessment; federal, state, regional, and local permitting of new mines and mine expansions; reclamation and mitigation design and modification; water use permitting support; permit compliance and mitigation monitoring; specialized wildlife surveys and permitting; preparation of Avian Protection Plans; and gopher tortoise and other listed species relocations.
